Saltash Gateway CIC takes the lead
Saltash Gateway CIC has taken the lead on developing a Saltash Health and Social Care Forum, an initiative that plans to offer an increased voice to the public, and ensure health policy and planning in our local area is reflective of our local needs. We have been asked to do this by the Saltash Health Strategy Group.
As a first step to achieving our aim we will undertake some research so as to better understand how we can engage with the residents of the Saltash Gateway area and explore the most effective ways of making the public voice heard. We are undertaking this research with financial support from both Saltash Town Council and an independent donor. Once we have a better idea of who we should be listening to and how to organise the Forum, we will be in a position to get the ball rolling. We plan to start running regular consultation meetings in the Autumn and create opportunities for the public to meet with health service planners and professionals.
The changing landscape across the NHS and local government offers new challenges and new opportunities. Saltash Gateway CIC as a community interest organisation sees the value of taking the lead in developing the voice of health and social care service users, ensuring that all who wish to be involved will have their voice heard.
